Terms of use
Short and plain: the rules for using the ChorePlay app and this website.
1. Who we are
ChorePlay is offered by:
Joel Barandun Rappenmööslistrasse 20 CH-8840 Einsiedeln choreplay@icloud.comBy using ChorePlay, you accept these terms. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy: Privacy policy
If you got ChorePlay through Apple (App Store or TestFlight), Apple’s terms apply too. Apple isn’t responsible for ChorePlay or its support.
2. A free beta
ChorePlay is in beta: features can change, break or disappear, and data can get lost. It’s free during the beta. If we ever add paid features, we’ll tell you first, and you decide. Please don’t rely on ChorePlay for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as medication or safety.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple. Your account is for you alone; keep your iPhone and your Apple ID safe.
4. Your household
Everyone in a household sees what its members add: chores, notes, photos, reasons and reactions. Invite only people who want to join, and add only what you’re fine with them seeing. You’re responsible for what you add. The household’s admin can remove members.
5. Pausing apps is your choice
Pausing apps is something you switch on and control yourself, on your own iPhone:
- you choose the apps, and nobody else can see or change them;
- you decide, person by person, whose chores may pause your apps;
- you can snooze a chore, and the emergency override (Free my apps) is always there, with no limit;
- you can turn off ChorePlay’s Screen Time access in the iPhone’s Settings at any time.
Use ChorePlay only for chores that people agreed to. Never use it to pressure, monitor or control another person.
6. Fair use
Don’t use ChorePlay to break the law or to harass anyone. In particular, don’t add:
- content that is illegal, hateful, sexual or violent;
- photos of people who haven’t agreed to them;
- other people’s private data.
Don’t attack or overload the service, don’t try to get around its protections, and don’t send spam.
You can report content from the chore in the app, or by email. We may remove content, and block or delete accounts that break these terms.
7. No guarantee
ChorePlay is a reminder tool. We do our best, but we can’t promise that it always works, that notifications arrive, or that apps pause or are freed exactly on time: that also depends on iOS, Apple and Google.
As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for missed chores, apps that were or weren’t paused, lost data, or what follows from them. This doesn’t limit our liability for intent or gross negligence.
8. Stopping
You can stop any time and delete your account in the app (Me › Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we end ChorePlay or the beta, we’ll tell you in advance where we can.
9. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when ChorePlay leaves the beta. The version and date are at the top, and we announce important changes on this page before they apply. If you keep using ChorePlay after that, the new terms apply.
10. Applicable law
Swiss law applies. If you use ChorePlay privately, the mandatory consumer protection where you live still applies to you.
